Anyone got experience in going back to work part-time & UC?
My little one is turning three soon. Not going to lie, job hunting hasn't been going too well. So any advice here would be appreciated as well. Previously it never took me more than five applications to get a job, this time it's different. I know once my son is turning three I need / want to go back to work. However I'm thinking about returning part-time? Will I still get universal credit then? I'm a single mum and I kind of need the housing benefit as we do live in London. Father isn't really in the picture, he pays child support at the moment.

Yes you’ll still universal credit and the housing element but because you’ll now be working they take money off your UC. For example say you make 1000 a month. They take off 379 because that’s your allowance. Then they take off 55p for every £1 you make, so 621 x 0.55. So if that’s what you was making they’d deduct 341.55 off your UC. You’d also get up If it makes it any better I work full time and even after my deductions my housing is still paid for and I have money left over from UC.
