Work Christmas do 🎄

We are having our works do in about a week and I opted for ham hock terrine but now I’m thinking that this falls within pâté so I won’t be able to have it. Anyone know if it’ll be safe to have? Thank youuu xxx

Agreed that better ask whether it’s cooked or not. Otherwise I would avoid having it just to play safe if not sure.

yes I will do thank you! X

Pate is unsafe due to it containing liver. I’m not sure ham hock terrine would contain liver x

not all pate contains liver. Even vegetarian pate is to be avoided according to the NHS site

The ham hock will be cooked first then put in a terrine with a little jelly and herbs usually. Should be absolutely fine

I had this when I was pregnant and just confirmed it was cooked. Usually it is but always best to check. X

If it is a traditional terrine with chunky meat then it should be fine. May be worth checking with the venue.
We had this as a starter at our wedding and my friend was pregnant and able to eat it.

Saying that, some places do seem to call pate ‘terrine’ to try and be fancy so it may be worth checking.

I ate a ham hock terrine a month or so back and I'm fine. If its a cooked terrine it's absolutely no problem and very delicious

The issue with pate is only that it’s liver. Ham hock is ham. It’s fine. I’m almost certain.
