drinking and breastfeeding

i went out thursday evening & did 4 shots but i drank water straight after , i have been pumping & dumping , i’m scared to breastfeed, i want to wait a bit longer than 24 hours to breastfeed I do feel horrible for drinking but i just wanted to let my hair down , its not easy being a single mother , i will most likely not drink again

What I’ve been told by a lactation nurse is that you don’t need to pump and dump, just wait two hours before feeding. You should be more than fine to feed by now 😊

Don’t pump and dump very little alcohol actually gets through (almost negligible) there’s lots of research on it, but if you don’t feel comfortable giving it use it for a milk bath, it’s really good for their skin and can help with things like nappy rash during teething

Safe to hold, safe to feed. They say even after a full glass of wine, the alcohol content that would pass into breastmilk would be the same alcohol percentage as a glass of orange juice.
