3 days baby

Hello moms, any tips on how to deal with this? My 4 day old baby is awake the whole night, he doesn’t sleep even 5 minutes. It’s exhausting! Sleeps well during the day and she is much more calmer throughout the day but nights are very intense. Tried white noise, swaddling, nothing works. Thank you♥️

She just has the nights & days mixed up 🥴 uhmmm try to keep her up more during the day I know it’s harder than said but just try

Hi . Is your baby eating enough ? Big feed before bed does the trick sometimes. Possible tounge tie ? Try contact nap on you and then make sure baby mattress is warm and put the baby in ? X

Also Jhene Aiko has an album for babies on Apple Music try that!

She is only like 4 days old you cant keep her awake .... baby need sleep . She wont know the difference between day / night for long time.

@Ashley what’s the album called?

I know its exhausting but 4 days old baby is too young to try to keep awake longer during the day. Also as mentioned before he won’t know difference between night and day, that comes bit later. Try contact naps. Also baby can feel your emotions and if you get stressed it can cause the baby doesn’t sleep (my own experience).

@Marti I don’t think the post is saying she is keeping him awake… she’s asking how to get him to sleep/settle

This first week is the hardest, but baby will regulate. Mine did around day 7 and started sleeping more at night. Use your supports and try to switch in shifts with your partner or a family member at night if that’s possible

I know some people wont recommend but my boy didnt sleep the first few days at night so i got ewan the dream sheep, and he slepted well after that, whether he just spent time looking at the red light or asleep i dont know😂

I’m not looking to keep her awake I’m aware they don’t make a difference between day and night. I’m only asking for tips for the baby to sleep even 5 minutes at night as she doesn’t at the moment.

Is she sleeping while you are feeding her? For mine, I made sure there is natural light when feeding him during the day. At night (from 7 pm to 7 am) we keep the lights low and the curtains closed, even when changing. We use red colored lights in the room at night. Eventually going out for a walk during the day can also help too but the first few days are rough

@Chloe it’s called sleep soul!

@Chloe someone suggested to keep her awake during the day so she sleeps better at night ....

I’d sleep in the day then and stay awake with her during the night! It won’t last forever

4 days hun it’s still so new and she doesn’t know the difference - it will get better x
