I’m almost 5 weeks out from a second trimester loss. I started testing negative on a blue dye test 2 weeks ago. However, since then I’ve had faint lines on easy@home for a week and a half with no sign of it fading.
I went in for a blood test today and it’s at a 5. I’m worried it hasn’t been zeroing out, but the operating OB said she got everything out via the d&e because my placenta had already fully detached.
I see my regular OB on Wednesday and I think I’ll have to have her do a transvaginal ultrasound to take a look.

I believe 5 and below is considered negative

Sorry for your loss. Amy idea what could be the reasonfor the miscarriage?

I had a subchorionic hemorrhage that got worse and worse (generally they’re supposed to resolve on their own and in the first trimester). At 17 weeks I became severely anemic and needed a blood transfusion. Later that evening I went into pre term labor as my placenta had fully abrupted (detached). Had to have an emergent d&e and I lost about 1L of blood. If I had tried to deliver the baby at home like a regular miscarriage, I would have hemorrhaged and could have died.
It was an IVF pregnancy. Subchorionic hemorrhages are very common with IVF. Why I kept bleeding out is a mystery and my team of doctors wasn’t able to answer. All my clotting factors were completely normal.
