Watered down juice

Ok so I’m a 22 years old first time mom to a 6 month old and I’m always seeing mom hacks or just information on tik tok. I’ve always seen people water down their child’s apple juice and growing up I would see family members doing it too but someone on tik tok said don’t do that because it will cause your child to have eating disorders/unhealthy relationships with food and I just wanna know is that true? If so how? Because I’m confused on how giving a 2 year old watered down juice would cause them to have an eating disorder/ unhealthy relationship with food if they wouldn’t know about any of this when they’re older. Anyways please educate me!!

Yeah I don’t understand that…I don’t think that’s a thing tbh. How? By 2 they should be eating all the things and drinking a lot more. I’m thinking because they can still taste the sugar and they’ll only want sweet things? Which also isn’t a thing usually. It’s like when you start solids/purées for your baby. I got hella flack for starting with apples bc he won’t want veggies or some shit. The only thing the kid won’t touch is an avocado. Smh. Don’t even worry about it. Your baby is too young now for sure, but by 2? Juice it up lmao

I always had watered down juice growing up. Now I hate not watered down juice. Its too sweet for me. I don't understand why someone would say that it creates unhealthy relationships with food.

My son is only 1 and hasn't had juice yet. Unless I make it myself, I'm going to water it down because it cuts down on the sugar and makes it last longer. Store bought juice has way too much sugars and the 100%juice options are very acidic and cost like 11$ for 750mL.

My son is 15 months old and he always has water in his bottle but sometimes he has a fruit shoot as a treat. Don’t see any issue with doing this!!

They aren't supposed to have Juice until a year old because of the sugar, but after that its perfectly fine

I give my kids water down juice they turn 1. just because when I gave her pure juice she would have the runs when she was little. we always water it down so that way it's less sugar. she'll even tell me there isn't enough water in it

I watered down the juice for every kid I've watched or was around. None of them have unhealthy relationships with food, that's nuts of them to claim, I hope they have actual proof instead of spreading nonsense. Also, more than likely we drank it like that or know someone we grew up with that did.

Lol that's fucking wild. I only give apple juice when my daughter is constipated and I absolutely water it down. She is 18 mo now. I dont think I gave it at all until she was around 1. Maybe applesauce for constipation before that. Juice has an INSANE amount of sugar and its sooo unhealthy for kids. I will give my daughter a piece of cookie or cake or ice cream if I am eating it, so I dont gate keep sugar from her or anything, but juice is just too much at once. Esp if you give it more regularly. I do it for constipation or if she hasnt been drinking water that day I'll sometimes add a little juice to see if she will drink more. The excessive sugar at such a young age creates an addiction to it so they want sodas and such as they grow. Teach them to love water. My daughter likes it better than milk now. I always preferred water. If you dont want to give watered juice, then get the honest brand boxes because they are only the natural fruit with no added sugar.

We don't because we buy sugar free squash and flavoured water, but if I was to give apple juice or whatever I would water it down quite a bit because of the sugar content. Some kids won't drink water and if a splash of juice in the water helps then do it

There will be no truth in what they say so don’t worry about it. TikTok is full of people who over share their unhelpful personal views. Xx
