Terrible Rash Post C-Section

I had a c-section on 12/20. This was my second one and had a very similar experience after the first. I have no known allergies but am wondering what I could be allergic to!

My stomach breaks out in this terrible rash, mostly on both sides of my abdomen. I wasn’t sure if it could be the cleaning solution they use to prep my skin before making the incision. Or perhaps I’m allergic to the material in the abdominal binder they give me to wear. Now the rash is so irritated, it’s spread down below my incision and in the sides of my groin.

Going to message the doctor’s office to see what they recommend. Anyone else have a similar experience, or have any thoughts on what I should try to do to clear this rash?

Are you taking the binder off to breathe?

So with my first c-sec I had a wound-vac put on (I'm plus size so it would speed up the healing). When it came off 5 days post c-sec I broke out from my belly button down to my feet. It ended up being an allergic reaction (hives) to the adhesive of the wound vac.
I had to take benadryl, famotadine, a steroid, and had a steroid cream.
I would definitely give your Dr a call

Yes. I’ve had to stop wearing it completely because I’m so uncomfortable from the itchiness

Sometimes spinal taps or epidurals can do that. It's part of the side effects to some people. So it could possibly be that. But it's best to contact Dr just incase it's nothing more serious

I got a postpartum belly rash after my vaginl delivery. The doctor said it’s totally normal and to us Cortizone for itching and unscented moisturizer to keep it from being dry. It has started to clear up since then.

more like it’s caused by hormones. If it were the spinal/epidural the rash would be either local to your back or all over your body.
