My son is 5 months and always had dry patches of skin but this flare up is horrible :( Went to dr about it and they weren’t worried. Just said e45 it’s probably baby eczema. Was using aveeno baby for a week and no better. Now the skins cracking in places just don’t want it to start bothering him as so far he isn’t itching or in pain but I just want to get rid of it for him 😭🥺 anyone in the same boat??? He has just got rid of bronchiltus so could be cos he’s run down too xx

Aveeno baby actually made my little boy flare up! He has mild eczema but after using that, he had loads of patches everywhere.
We've been using collodial oat cream, he still has patches but you can't see them and he's not had a flare up.... yet... x

oh you’re kidding me. Ffs 😭🙈 can you please send me the link?? Xx

My baby was the same. Specially on his neck. Dr prescribed hidrocortisona and cetraben cream, it really worked for him. His skin is looking great now! Aveeno cream wasn’t doing anything for him. Now I only use aveeno soap.

that’s good to know thank you my love. I’m going to go back to the drs. What bubble bath or soap or shampoo do you use? Just aveeno soap? Xx

For his bath I swapped and started to use infacare. I love the smell of it too 😆 x

infacare is that bubbles or hair and body wash? Thanks my lovely xx

E45 and Aveeno are terrible imo. I don’t rate them at all. For an eczema flair up this bad you need medicated creams like hydrocortisone or betnovate. Don’t use anything in the bath - if you have to then something unscented like simple, or child’s farm sensitive.

hi sorry. i’m gonna send u a dm about the brochiolitis. my baby girl just had it recently too and i’ve got some questions? xx
sorry it has nothing to do with the dry patches☹️

sure xx

love when drs reccomened the worst thing :) thanks lovely x

Oats in the bath water may help too

QV bath oil and bath wash!!! I’ve also used their cream and it’s great - not specifically for babies but was recommended by a paediatrician

Oilatum for the bath, similar to Ciara we also used the QV stuff too when ours was bad and worked really well. She only has one wee patch behind her knee now so we are using Childs farm or aveeno baby bath stuff and moisturiser now and zerobase on the wee patch.

no worries!:) I just use Aveeno for the bath and there’s also an oil you can get to put in the water. Sometimes I only use the oil with no soap at all. I’ll see if I can send you a pic of the products. Xx

thank you I’d really appreciate that xx

My gp prescribed e45 bath emollient and zeroderma for my sons eczema and neither one helped.
I’m now using nalas baby fragrance free moisturiser and shower gel for him and his skin has really cleared

he’s been on nala baby cream his whole life when he had the odd dry patch and had no problem and skin was super soft it’s just recently started proper flaring up. So strange x

My 5 month old son had this all over his back, and he’s been prescribed with something called daktarin which helped, however the other three moisturisers did not help at all, now they prescribed him with a strong steroid cream

My little girls eczema was raised and really bad ! Very itchy but it’s all gone now thanks to using epimax as her soap substitute and emulsifying ointment as a moisturiser. Dr advised us to use her moisturiser multiple times per day. Sometimes I just used the epimax as the top up moisturiser at least 3 times per day. I hope this helps

Hey, I think you should go back to a different doctor if possible and ask them to prescribe something like cetraben. Your sons eczema is way worse than my sons yet he has been prescribed cetraben and its really helped x
