My little one is about to start swim lessons next week, he’s got his happy nappy and wetsuit vest but I wanted to ask - the happy nappy, does it require another nappy before I put that on him or is this nappy enough?
TIA x

It depends whether it's the newer style happy nappy (duo) which has a built in liner or one of the regular ones without. If the latter, you'll either need a disposable swim nappy or a reusable swim nappy (think cotton pants) with a liner (like thick loo roll) underneath.
Do you have a link to where you got it from?

When we started swim lessons the facility required a swim diaper with a reusable diaper with a liner on top. I think it's just up to where you take the lessons.

so I got these https://www.splashabout.com/happy-nappy-new-under-the-sea.html

you'll need another nappy underneath 🙂
Just to mention if you had an idea about getting him ready for swimming before leaving home- swim nappies only keep in solids, not liquids. Makes sense when you think about it, otherwise they'd absorb the whole pool! I don't want you finding out the hard way in the car seat, though! 🤭

thank you so much! Oh I will make sure to get there with enough time because I think I’d cry looool

sounds like a good idea! Have an amazing time!

you can put a normal nappy over the top of it all to save time at the pool (I get mine ready before we go and then put the normal nappy on and a sleep suit so she doesn’t get cold, and just take that off when we get there)

I brought one of these to put over the swim nappy and under my daughters wetsuit, but it was such a faff getting it on and off, I just do the swim nappy and the wetsuit now

Oh my goodness. It’s so cute that he is starting swim lessons!! ❤️

genius! We’ve done a term of swimming lessons without figuring this out 🤦♀️

another mum told me the trick, it’s saved us so much time!
