When do you change from bassinet to seat?

My baby is 5 months old and I've been thinking of changing her to seat. But my husband told me it's a bit too early and it could affect her spine development. I just wonder if anyone is still using bassinet?

Still using it here atv5 months, she is getting a little long for it but while she's comfortable and warm in this weather we'll carry on. Km guessing she'll be in the seat before 6 months X

Our boy outgrew his bassinet early due to size and him being bored of not being able to see. We swapped to the seat at around 3.5mo. It does recline so he isn’t sat fully upright x

From about 5months because she’s so nosey she can’t see what was going on in the bassinet she used to just cry and was trying to lift her self up but our seat reclines so I still have it reclined a bit rather than upright she’s much happier x

we swapped around 3.5 months as she hated not being able to see around x

I think it entirely depends on your babies development, our little one has been in a pushchair style seat since 4 months but that’s only because she was trying to loft herself out of her bassinet style attachment really early on! She’s a mosey bugger so loves to look around 🙈

I have only just changed it over yesterday as she has outgrown it length wise🥹

I changed it over when he was around 4 months

We changed at 4 months, it seemed early but my girl wasn't happy in the bassinet as she's so nosey and she was rapidly outgrowing it (she's almost 18lbs at not quite 6 months 😂)

Mine is still happy in bassinet bit for now, but generally she’s in it timed for a nap so she’s asleep anyway. She’s super nosy so I’m surprised she hasn’t twigged that she’s missing stuff yet 😂

We changed at 8 weeks. He hated it the sitting unit was appropriate from newborn as it went flat if he falls asleep so it was no issue. He loves sitting up and people watching.

My little boy is 6 months in a week and when he was almost 5 months I changed to the seat to try it out but my husband made the same comment about his spine and etc and we decided to wait and went back to bassinet. I’m changing to the seat this week now xxx

My girl has been in her pushchair seat since 3.5 months led down flat as she was getting fed up in the pram and wouldn’t stay in it for long. Since using the seat she’s a lot more content with it. She’s 6m on 4th Jan so we’ve just started putting it up occasionally x
