i want to play with my baby!!!

You are not doing anything wrong thts how newborns are they eat and sleep. Newborns sleeps an average of 16 hrs in a 24 hr period. They really don't knw the difference between night and day. My son is almost 5 weeks thts wht he does eat poop pee and sleep. He will probably stay awake for like 30mins to an hr each day and laugh and play a bit and thts it. So don't worry bby is fine and it has nothing to do wht ur doing or not doing. While bby sleeps just take tht time for yourself to rest or whatever else.

You’re lucky! My baby stays up for hoursss & when we’re done playing, he won’t go back to sleep even if he’s sleepy😭

I wish mine would sleep more lol she's a terrible napper, but sleeps great at night. She doesn't really fuss when she's awake for hours..she just hangs out with me

@Christine yea my daughter was like that. She is 6 now but she was a terrible sleeper I use to have to put her in the car a drive around for her to fall asleep. But my son omg he is amazing he eats and then back to sleep. He was getting up every two hours to feed at night but he starting to stretch it a bit between 3 -3 and half hours. Some babies sleep and some don't.

I want my baby to nap without fighting me 😅 she sleeps well at night but during the day will not nap without screaming her little head off for 30 minutes first then will only contact nap. If I try to put her in the bassinet or swing for a nap, her eyes shoot open and it’s back to screaming.

I feel like the feeding time is the longest, the most engaging wake time for the newborn. Maybe you can talk to her, have an eye contact, tummy time on your chest to burp, or sit her up against your knees to burp. I get a lot of engagement when burping mine like that.

My baby is the same.. she will ONLY contact nap during the day! We have gotten a few solid bassinet naps during the day and she’s 6 weeks lol 😅
