Hey!!
Anyone else had some recent swelling? Last few days my feet have been puffy, and my hands - nothing major and hasn’t been instant, but is this something I need to call triage about or just a normal thing this late into pregnancy (38 weeks tomorrow).
I also feel really tired and a bit short of breath today… I have my midwife appt tomorrow, should I just wait til then to talk to her or call triage??

I had swelling of my ankles over Christmas and I tested my blood pressure which was high so called up and they asked me to go in. They did say swelling does happen with later stages or pregnancy but it also is a pre eclampsia sign! I’d call them just for advice and see if they’d like to check you out

thank you angel, I’ll give them a try. What did they do when you were there?

I went to triage yesterday for bad swelling in my legs and feet and I had a headache that wouldn’t shift, they told me it was quite normal but they are glad I went and got checked over because they are both signs of pre eclampsia, luckily it wasn’t that but They’ve also given me compression socks to wear when I’m walking around!xx

they tested my blood pressure, urine for protein, temperature and heart rate etc. blood pressure was still a little high so they gave it 30 mins then re tested and it had come down. Then they just said to me to keep doing what I’m doing as with the blood pressure they would normally put a plan in place but I’ve already been told by a consultant to do it 3 times a week at home due to having high blood pressure early pregnancy / before and a higher bmi so they were happy with me to carry on! They checked my ankles and said the could see the swelling and the lines but as all my other checks were fine I was ok to go home but keep monitoring the swelling and other symptoms :)

bless your heart!

I think mine is just pregnancy related and doing too much, I don’t have other symptoms to do with preeclampsia, just pure agony with my back and hips🙈 I hope you’re okay! Xx

I did way too much last night. Was running around after everyone getting drinks - I think that’s what it is!
I’ve had no other symptoms either. Hope you’re okay! X

Yep feet / legs swollen everyday at the moment. Do be aware even after birth they may stay swollen for a couple of days :) ( I totally didn't realise this after my first being born and felt huge and heavy on my legs) good luck ladies with the delivery - not long to go now 🥰 xx
