Baby savings

Just wondering what bank accounts everyone else has opened for their little ones. We’re on about going out tomorrow and opening one for our 4 month old and putting money away that he got for Christmas and doing that over the years but we’re unsure what there is about to go for/what banks. We’re both with NatWest and Lloyds for our banking so we’ve got no clue if they do anything.

Depends how you want to use it - I’ve set up a junior ISA for my baby but it’s in his name so only he can access the money once he turns 18 - I can’t decide when he’s 10 that I want to buy him something and withdraw some of the money.
If you want more of a regular savings account then check out MoneySavingExpert as they always have good recommendations 😊

As above, our son just has a Junior ISA at the moment (with NatWest)
I plan to open him a children’s saver account as well though, when he’s a little bit older, which he can use to understand saving for things he wants to buy etc.

I’m interested in this too. I’m with hsbc and I just checked they don’t do the Baby future savers anymore 😔 only a savings account for children to open themselves when they turn 7

I would have a look at Matrin Lewis as he offers such good advice dependent on lots of different circumstances

I would look at Premium Bonds...Prizes monthly so can add up over 18 years. Defo going to open one for our little one when he/she gets here

We've got a Junior ISA via the Hargreaves Lansdowne platform so it's in stocks and shares.

We’ve got premium bonds and just a standard kids savings account for family sending cheques x

We have a junior isa but also we have a separate Monzo account for every day stuff they may need

I think the ISA worked out better with interest. We had both and when we got our bonds we only had 50p more than what our parents had put in for us. Just thought I'd throw it out there worth comparing the 2
