Daunting days out?

Anyone else find days out really hard or stressful?
Not so much if the kids dad is there too, but taking two kids (11months and 5 years) out alone is daunting. I feel I need to though, it’s no good sitting in the house or just walking around the block.

5yo still has tantrums and struggles with listening/wandering off. 11mo is teething and clingy.

We’re off to a farm today. If anyone has any tips for managing the stress of days out alone please share

I only have my 11 month old, so not as daunting as having 2! I would say, just make sure you pick enough snacks and drinks (food always keeps my son happy) and nappies for the little one, and maybe a couple of toys for the car ride in case they get mardy. I fly by myself a lot with my son (like today) because I'm from Spain, and that's the only time I get a bit anxious. I find as long as there's food and a couple of toys, he just loves watching people and the environment. Going out is easier to entertain him than staying at home, even when it feels nerve-wracking. Good luck!

I do only have 1 child but I have terrible anxiety about leaving the house. Something's I do that help me is: go after 2nd, if my boy is super grumpy then we won't go (unless we have to) and I bring a few toys and his comforter. With eating out I try and sit outside (if not too cold) because if he gets restless I know I'm not making a massive scene. And he usually is happy to look round.

Have absolutely everything ready the night before.
Clothes laid out, breakfasts planned, bags packed, snacks & drinks ready.
Know where you’re going, what facilities are available, have the postcode ready to put in sat nav, make sure you’ve got enough petrol, know where to park. Find out what the weather is going to be like.
Make a plan in your head for how to deal with tantrums, naps etc. put teething rings in the fridge ready to go.
Honestly it sounds excessive but preparing to this level is often the only way I manage to get out the door!
