Water birth

So I recently found out I was pregnant 5 weeks and (I know I’m jumping head) but I always said for my 3rd and last baby (hopefully lol) I wanted to do a water birth but I don’t want to do it at home. This is My Fiancé (not the father of my two current children) 1st baby I know he will probably be freaked out but I don’t care I’m still gunna do it🤣 so how would I start the process down the line ? Do they have hospital that do water birth ?

I’m not sure about hospitals but I’ve always heard of like birthing centers doing it which I’m thinking is a little different from a hospital but I’m interested too. I want to know how to request this and start the process.

Tbh, I think water births are only at specific centers. So you can probably look around to see if there’s any around you. Don’t quote me tho, I’m not 100% sure lol.

Certain hospitals will do water births and then a birth center would also allow water birth. Where are you located?

For the hospitals, it depends on your area. NO hospital allows birth to happen in the water. They allow you to labor in the water, but NOT birth. (DO NOT enter the water UNTIL active labor has started, otherwise you’ll cause labor to slow down.) You can look into the Atlanta Birthing Center. I think they do water births. But usually, if you want to birth in the water, you’ll need to do it at home. I did it, and my hubby was freaked out until the process started. He said if we ever had another baby, he would choose the midwife and water birth route again. :) Our first was in the hospital, and our second was at home as a water birth. VERY different experiences. If you have any questions, feel free to message me! :) I don’t mind at all sharing about my experiences.

I did a water birth at Home with my first and 12w pregnant with my second. I'm excited to do another water birth everything was so smooth and relaxing :) I hope you find your place to do a water birth!

That’s the only reason I go Niles women health care for hopes of doing a water birth. I was suppose to do it with my firstborn but labored at home too long. Now I’m 8 weeks pregnant and going to try it again!

Yes some hospitals do water births. Ask your OB which hospitals they are affiliated with and deliver at and whether or not they do water births!

And again, be sure to call and clarify what they mean by “they support”
or “they do” water births. You don’t want to end up there and only be able to labor in the water. Also of note, if going naturally, your baby will crown several times. Why? Because that helps your hole widen enough for baby to come through. Don’t push or force it too early or you will tear. The ring of fire sensation is your body doing what it needs to to widen the hole. :)
