Nursery

I’ve just started doing showrounds and most have said this is the best time… January for September 2024 or later intakes. Some have said too early for next year and most have asked for baby date of birth… so I won’t bother while pregnant!

I’m thinking from 10-12 months. New funding from September will be from 9 months for next “school” terms so good news for November babies.

It’s quite surreal my baby only 8 weeks but good to see what’s out there…..

I've had a nursery place for October 2024 since June 2023 due to spaces, was lucky I enquired when I did

@Zoe I believe its because of the government childcare announcement, more people might be able to afford to use nurseries

I literally had to fill a form in with 'baby' for first name, TBC for gender etc 😂
But I like to be super organised so I'm relieved it's all in place

My current nursery I had to apply for my 2nd while I was 3 months pregnant for her to start October 2024 as they were running out of spaces.

I’ve had a nursery place secured for October 2024 since I was 20 weeks pregnant, baby will be almost 11 months old

I think it depends where you live and how popular the nursery is. We were lucky to get a place at the nursery we wanted and secured that in Oct 2023 to start in October 2024. One place I called were full and said I’d have needed to get our names on the list before we were even pregnant 🙄!

I contacted a nursery I liked two weeks ago. Their soonest availability was September 2025 😬

We have a place for September 2024 which we’ve had since May 2023 - our class filled up before any of us had our babies. It’s nuts! We only knew to do it early because friends got caught out. It seems especially bad in London
