Hi all, my very first obgyn appointment is in 20 days and I can't stop stressing about if my pregnancy is all good or not. When I caugh I have a very brief sharp pain and that's all that is for me to be concerned about.
How do you all control you stress? I did do the blood test which confirmed pregnancy but i can't do that everyday!
If I take pregnancy tests everyday, does that confirm that there wasn't a miscarriage?

Fellow anxious lady here - my doctor told me as long as I didn’t have “excessive vaginal bleeding” it was unlikely that I’m miscarrying. I know it’s easier said than done but try to take a deep breath and not stress unless you’re bleeding a lot.

thank you for sharing! It did make me feel better to hear your doctor said that

I am VERY anxious when I’m pregnant too. I am 9 weeks 2 days but my doc can’t see me till the 17th! I did end up scheduling a private ultrasound and the soonest they could see me is the 12th. If that is an option for you, I would recommend it! I am also a chronic tester (honestly probably taken 50 lol). It doesn’t seem real bc I don’t really have symptoms so I totally understand!

Also a chronic tester and it helps at the beginning but it starts making me feel crazy so I eventually have to stop. I also get a private ultrasound for peace of mind so I can see the heartbeat which is a good sign for baby’s development. I recommend looking at the miscarriage probability chart by week/day and that helps me. I don’t get seen until next Friday by my OB and it’s been driving me crazy waiting this long since previous pregnancies I’ve been seen sooner. For me this time has been harder than my 2nd who is a rainbow baby because I had a friend who was pregnant with me and unfortunately she had a missed miscarriage in December

The only thing that being anxious does is stresses you out and that is bad for baby.
When you are feeling stressed, take deep breaths and ask yourself if you have done the "right" things today. Are you drinking enough water, did you eat healthy, did you take your prenatal vitamins. Can you handle some stretching or yoga, or a light workout. Think in terms of action bsteps you CAN do.
(I have a sharp pain whenever I cough or sneeze. I did with my first one too and he is all healthy.)
As you get further along, you might want to get a home Doppler, it allows you to hear the heartbeat at home (great for others to bond with baby too) and should give you some comfort.

how far in pregnancy can i hear the heartbeat with Doppler?

I’ve been SO stressed and anxious. My first ultrasound is on Monday - thank god. I took the whole day off of work in case there is something wrong and I’m too devastated to go back. I have no reason to think something is wrong. Anxiety is fun Lol. I’m hoping that this appt gives me a peace of mind because idk if I can take 7 more months of this anxiety. I’m seriously wondering if I should up my lexapro dosage.

Depending on which one you buy, they usually say somewhere between 12-20 weeks. There are some on Amazon. We thought about it with our first and will probably be getting for this one so our son can feel connected more.

I just reached out to my nurse because I have cramping in my lower abdomen and back. They say the cramping is normal and unless I have bright red bleeding everything should be okay. And my cramps are pretty intense when they come but no bleeding. I have my next ultrasound next week so I’m choosing to stay calm and praying for my little one.
I notice that if I pull myself up from bed wrong or sneeze that I get a sharp pain in my lower stomach either on the right or left side. I contribute that to my uterus growing and preparing for baby

Thanks so much for sharing. That does make me feel better

There are some private ultrasound places that will do pregnancy confirmation ultrasounds for peace of mind. Well at least here in San Antonio TX :)

I’ll have random cramping but it’ll only last like a minute or two and I have to keep reminding myself that I’m not bleeding and the pain goes away.
My ob won’t see me until the 18th.
The only real symptom I’ve had is really sore boobs and I have to keep reminding myself I still have those so everything should be fine. I actually cried to my boss boss today and she helped reassure me that everything is going to be fine and I have to have a positive outlook on everything.

I’ve been experiencing the same sharp pain if I get up too fast, or stretch while standing with both hands up. It alternates sides and doesn’t last long at all.

you don’t have any symptoms??? Lucky!! :)

I did pretty early on and they’ve gone away now. I’m just soooo bloated and look 30 weeks pregnant after I eat 5 bites of food 🤣
