Sometimes that happens to me, at first I thought it was preeclampsia but my doctor did check and everything was okay. It might just be nothing but if you're worried talk to your doctor about it, or if you have any other symptoms.

So the most likely cause is low blood sugar. It can cause that visual effect because you get lightheaded. Alternatively you could just be moving too quickly and the blood flow takes a bit longer because of the pregnancy so if you stand too quick you can get dizzy and see stars. If it's happening just sitting there and you have eaten recently, I'd ask the doctor to do some extra testing.

Could you have been laying down a certain way that may have compressed a major blood vessel? I saw stars once and it happened when I bent over too long in a straining way

I see stars anytime I cough. Just wait for it to pass and stay hydrated.
