Water for 13 months old

Hi mamas. Do you offer ice cold water and cold cow milk to 13 months old? My son started going to daycare and he has been given ice cold water. Is this safe for him? He has runny nose. 😟

I gave my son ice water starting at like 10 months đŸ€·â€â™€ïž and he’s been drinking cold cows milk since 11 months.
I HIGHLY doubt the runny nose is from cold fluids. He’s going to a daycare, chances are he got a bug from one of the kids there.

I haven't put ice in my son's water yet but it's always cold from the refrigerator. I warm his milk sometimes if he's extra fussy but most of the time it's cold.

Yup! Water is perfectly fine and necessary at this age!

My daughter has always liked her milk/water ice cold. She wouldn’t drink it warm at all, she would literally spit it out. She’s 14 months

My LO has had cold milk from about 3 months and cold water now too

My son always drinks out of moms waterbottle, he goes out of his way to steal mine. In his own cup he'll drink water or cows milk. He doesn't like warmed up foods/drinks.

My son drinks cold milk. Since I never drink ice water and my husband doesn’t either my son doesn’t. We just drink room temp water. I don’t think the runny nose would be from the cold drinks.

My son drinks i e water because he will only drink from our cups. Daycare and runny noses go together like PB and J. My pediatrician joked he would be done with it in April 😬

All 3 of my kids have liked their water and milk cold from the fridge. Water comes out cold from our filter and he doesn’t like the milk when it warms up even a bit. Totally safe. Runny nose is probably just from little viruses at daycare.

thank you mamas! I wasn’t sure about that. Indeed it’s virus that caused runny nose but cold makes it easy for virus to survive in body. In South Asian parenting, they offer lukewarm water and milk for kids under 2, which is why I was wondering if ice cold was okay. The study shows ice cold is not good for health which is why I was concerned. https://www.macupuncture.com/copy-of-hidden-hazards-of-iced-water#:~:text=The%20organs%20of%20young%20children,allergies%2C%20hay%20fever%20and%20asthma.
