Salmon is pricey. Is it ok to give LO tinned salmon instead of fresh?

Yes I would just check the sodium level and find the lowest sodium one you can. I use canned salmon when I make salmon cakes for my baby.

Canned goods are not great in general due to trace levels of toxins/heavy metals. I'd personally avoid but I agree that salmon can be quite cost-prohibitive so just do a risk assessment and go with what you think is best for your baby! If you go for canned salmon, try to get wild caught as salmon that is farm raised also has a much higher concentration of toxins stored in the fat.

I agree with Vanessa I always buy wild caught

Came here to echo what Vanessa said ♥️.
Trust your instincts, Mama.
Not sure of your location, but you can often find reasonably priced bags of frozen wild-caught fillets; typically, there are about 12 filets per bag.
Thanks everyone!
