My partner just broke up with me yesterday. Our daughter is 10 months. My partner and I have been together for almost 8 years and it’s heart breaking and I don’t know what to do now that once he moves out(he doesn’t know when yet) I’ll legit be a single mom. We haven’t even made it a year of being parents. Anyone dealt with something like this or are currently going through this? How do I navigate this. It really hurts when he says he still loves me just not the same type of love.

Isn’t therapy an option at all? Having a kid puts a strain on most relationships because it’s a big change and it’s the time partners start resenting each other a lot. Usually after the first year and a lot of date nights, things start to look better.
yea I wish. He doesn’t want to because “he has nothing to talk about” and he is more breaking up with me because when I was on leave he took care of the finances and we went into debt on things and now trying to get out but he blames me and my financial issues and that it’s affected him

Yes I’ve been there. With my first baby who is 13 now, me and his dad were bad by the time he was a year old and then he broke up with me when he was 2. We were together before that for 5 years. I think it was the stress of being new parents plus being young (22). We were apart for a year. During that time I did things for myself and even went to therapy alone. and then he did end up agreeing to couples therapy, and got back together a while after that, now have our March 2023 baby and our 13 year old!
I was so devastated when he broke up with me but I just took it day by day and some days just did the bare minimum as a mom. My advice is to listen what he tells you he wants/ needs and respect that. Start working on yourself, not changing for him but improving for you. If it’s meant to be, you will both grow and move forward together. The first year of being parents is so hard for everyone so don’t be hard on yourself either.

🥹I feel you and I’m sending hugs.Im going through the same thing with my partner.I actually ended things in November with him because he wasnt cutting it and I can’t take any more.On my own I bought clothes, formula, wipes and diapers and just started getting help from him with her financially when she was 8 months( 10 months today)🥹🎉and held everything down while he stayed home with her until he found employment.I feel so much lighter because the truth is he needs to get his shit together.Me and you are turning new leaves in our life’s and don’t be scared to cry it out I sure did.I feel like I failed my baby but all we can do know is focus on coparenting🫶🏼🫶🏼😘.
