Are your LO’s sitting up by themselves yet? My LB was born 3rd July and not sitting yet. Any tips on how to help him?

My LO born on 25th July can sit up unaided for about 30 seconds and is getting better at correcting his balance everyday. To encourage him I sit him in the middle of our bed to practice so when he face plants it doesn’t matter and I just sit him back up again 😊

My girl was born 7th July and can do up to about 10 seconds independently. I’m not doing anything specifically to help her other than a bit of practise during playtime. She’s slowly learning to use her hands to balance herself!

My baby girl is 6 months today and has been learning to sit since around 4.5 months as she always wants to be up and pulling her shoulders off the ground. We started supporting sitting with her playing used sit me up ring and also bumbo seat. She now sits alone all the time on the floor. Only ever falls now if she throws her self backwards 🙈😂 she’s got better and better with her correcting balance too. Try not to stress about it as all babies do things in their own time. My girl has rolled both ways once but has no interest in it at all just wants to be sat up so she doesn’t do it. Same with tummy time she hates it. It will come when he’s ready xx

So we have got up to 6min now, it started off with 30sec-a minute… just practice practice practice.. I started with him on the sofa next to me, he seemed to find that easier to sit on, then in time he started leaning forward so his back wasn’t touching the back of the sofa anymore, also every time I changed his nappy or was on my bed I would get him to sit and at first put his hands in front of him to help, when he sits even if it’s a few seconds make a massive deal out of it like good boy clap hands and look excited… just don’t get excited or laugh too much when they fall over because they will think it’s a game and they meant to do that… then we moved onto the carpet with two cushions on the side and one at the back incase of falling over (and I would be ready to catch him to if he fell to the side or front) Also I found it helped if he was concentrating on a light up toy or something infront of him so that he wasn’t overly focusing on the sitting if that makes sense 🥰xx

26th July boy and can sit up for a good while. He can't sit up himself from lying down bit holds himself up and flings his arms around in excitement.

My boy was born 27th july and last week for the first time he sat unattended. I play with him quite a bit to be fair and would sit him down on our bed or leaned against the sofa. Id put some toys out but also made sure his legs were in a good position for him to be able to sit as that matter too for them to be able to hold themselves and their weight. Dw your boy will get there when he’s ready! My boy can sit but can’t roll 😅 X

my LG is the 7th of July too 🥰

Little update, my LB sat for about 5 mins unaided yesterday! Talk about leap forward! We were at hartbeaps so maybe he was showing off 😂 still not rolling back to front though and although he can roll front to back he has no interest in it
