I know the title sounds horrible, but my gosh they are grating on my nerves! We have been inside our house since the end of the week before Christmas, because shortly after they got a bad cold. They have reactive airway disease so the cold weather made their wheezing worse. I have gone to the doctors, and unfortunately it's just that time of year where all of it is going around. They are used to being active, but due to their cough they can't, which makes them somewhat defiant. They are can't be bothered to grab things that are within their reach and expect me to grab and hand it to them. They follow me everywhere, and I haven't gotten a moment of peace. I sleep with them because the coughing was so harsh, my youngest would throw up. We are finally getting better, but now the weather is stopping us from going outside because it's so windy, they immediately start coughing with some wheezing. I just can't take it! I'm going crazy being inside the house with them 24/7, only having them as company. My fiancé works 6 days a week, 14 hours, and he tries to help if he's home in time. I haven't had anytime with him, for over a month. No sex, no cuddling, or even sleeping in the damn same bed alone. I just exhausted and frustrated with this being my life at the moment. End rant

Hey! Have you considered therapy? I don’t mean to be rude but you seem more concerned about your sexless life than about the recovery and how your kids feel. They clearly need you to feel better and it’s hard when you don’t get any help with it. Hope your kids get to feel better soon and things sort out for your family.

Ur weird

Kids are annoying at time but I wouldn’t say you can’t stand them

Well I mean you are their mom. I can empathize when people say they’re burned out but I cannot emphasize when someone blatantly bashes their toddlers for doing what toddlers do which is depend on their parents.

this..

i don’t think it sounds like she cares more about the sex then the well being of her kids. you can still care for your kids and be overwhelmed or overstimulated. maybe one night when your fiance gets home from work he can stay with the kids for a minute and you can take a bath to relax. sometimes just 30 minutes of peace to yourself will make all the difference. praying that your kids start feeling better soon and also for your mental health!❤️

I think the last thing she needs to hear right now is that shes in the wrong for feeling like this. All of her feelings are valid.
Im a stay at home mom - my husband works out of town during the week and is only here for the weekends. Im literally raising our kids on my own and while Im forever grateful that my husband can give us this life, if you don’t constantly go out or have play dates, you will absolutely lose your mind.
Now add absolutely no affection from your partner? I can see why anyone would be at their wits ends. Being over stimulated and having absolutely no release is not good for anyone.
Within all of this madness, I think finding time to do something for you is incredibly important. Yoga can he done within the walls of your home as well as reading and taking a nice hot bath. You are doing a great job and it can feel like a lot at times. Once you start prioritizing your mental health, youll start seeing changes within your household. We all struggle. U are not alone

She basically said fuck them kids little bastards

Ugh, I’m sorry you’re going through this! And your feelings are absolutely valid. Nobody deserves to be knocked for expressing frustration when they’re struggling . I have times when my daughter gets on my ever loving nerves and I just need her to knock it off. It’s tough when you can’t let the kids run around outside because of the wheezing, and I know from experience how difficult that can be! My daughter has asthma, so when she gets a cold or allergies, I just can’t let her run about as much as she’d like to, because it starts her coughing and sometimes a coughing fit will make her throw up. Is there any way your fiancé might be able to take some time off from work so that you can get a little break as well as some time with him? Sending lots of hugs ❤️

100% everything you said

I feel you. Sometimes, my baby girl drives me insane, that's just how it is. My man works all night, then works all day, then comes home to sleep for 5 or 6 hours. He helps out where he can (now) but I typically have our baby literally 24/7. I try not to do too much screen time but if I feel like I'm about to lose it, I turn on Ms Rachel and put her in her room for a bit and I go sit or do whatever. Any little thing to make sure my mental health is good because ultimately, if it's not, it affects her. I'm praying for you, Mama, because I struggle with one baby, and you have multiple!

Do you drive? If so can you not drive to soft plays etc. You’d only be in the cold air for a fe minutes. If you don’t drive can take a cab. If the kids are too sick do that, are you able to visit family or have people visit? When I’m stuck inside with the kids I usually try to get someone to come over so at least they are socialising and they aren’t all over me.
You define my need a break, can someone give you a break?
Sending hugs xx

Ugh. Grumpy sick kids for weeks ..
TV. Give them the cartoon babysitter and treats.
Bluey is a gorgeous series, only a few dollars on youtube.
If they're not toooooo sick maybe bundle them up and head to a park for a run around? or a visit to a lovely warm library to pick out a few books?

@Brianna this is a safe place to come for advice and support.
She's letting us know there's been weeks of essentially single parenting sick kids and everyone is getting miserable.
That's a normal response to being stuck inside and everyone being sick.
Thank you for those that shared kind words and did make me feel seen in being a sahm.

Just remember you are not alone! Its fucking hard but thats what turns us into great parents.

@Alexia why is this person weird? Because she wants 5 mins to her self, I wish I could have that does that make me weird?

I think the problem is that she should ask 5 minutes of rest from the husband not from the kids. The husband should be the one also caring for the kids.
