I'm almost 22 weeks now and I just had my doctor's appointment and a follow up appointment for the rest of my anatomy scan, they found out that my cervix is short and a little bit open from the inside. I have to go back in a week and was prescribed a progesterone tablet that I take vaginally. Does anyone else have experience with this sort of thing? This is the farthest I've made it in a pregnancy before and I'm so nervous something will happen to him too.

This is the furthest I have been and they found I had a short cervix at 22 weeks also at 18mm. I took the pessarys and my cervix is now 21 and "stable" Apparently your cervix is in flux which I never knew. I go back in 2 weeks to check again but have to take the pessaries until 34 weeks which compared to having pre-eclampsia or gestational diabetes is nothing. If it gets too short all they do is put a stitch in to hold the baby in until 37 weeks or labour. Most of us get to full term with no problems it just means there is a chance of prem birth, honestly, I'm not worried. I hope this helps.

thank you this definitely helps me feel better
