Warm weather

Try not to panic too much about the room temperature, there’s only so much you can do and as long as you adjust what baby is wearing that’s fine. (I.e. don’t have them in long sleeves and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag when it’s really hot).
My son was a newborn in July 22 in a heatwave and our bedroom was often reading as high 20s. He slept in just a nappy and a 0.5 tog swaddle suit most of the time.
There’s lots of guides of how many layers and what tog to use for different temperatures if you have a look online.

I’ve had two babies through summer. I just had them in a nappy and the. Got a snooze shade for the pram. When we were out.

We got an air conditioning unit last year (my daughter was about 6 months last summer) after I'd been so pregnant during the 40° heatwave the previous summer. Not a cheap option, I know, but worth considering, it really gave me some peace of mind (as well as a good night's sleep!)

@Steph would you mind sharing which air conditioner you went for in the end?

Something I have thought about too as my first was born in winter. He was 6 months when we had the first heatwave with him and his nursery was 30 degrees!!

He slept in a nappy and although restless to start with, once the sun set it cooled down a bit .. a least with newborns bedtime is much later! I highly recommend getting thermal blinds/curtains as we noticed a big difference using them (cant afford an air conditioning unit otherwise I would recommend that!).

My last option is I know downstairs back of the house is much cooler, so always prepared to just sleep in the living room if we need to!

My dad is buying me a mini Air conditioning unit for the summer 🙌🏽 as someone else mentioned, not the cheapest option.

We bought an aircon unit last year because our cats would get too hot and I am SO thankful I will have aircon for when the baby is here! Best investment ever
