How to dress baby for snow
Hiya! We have generously gifted this moncler snowsuit by one of our friends but it doesn’t have any hand and feet covers sadly. As it was so expensive I’d really like to use it but I’m not sure what boots and gloves would be best to get? My baby will be 8 months old and we’ll be visiting mountains in Austria with lots of snow.
Am I better off selling it? I just feel bad if I don’t use it.

Probably put baby in a vest, baby grow, cardigan and then put mittens / socks over hands as proper gloves can be hard to put on a baby. And then a normal cotton pair of socks and a pair of fluffy baby socks. With these types of snow suits their hands and feet barely come out of the sleeves unless its a little small. Im assuming you’d have them in a stroller or some sort of buggy but given your location (and the fact ive never been) i could be wrong but if thats the case then a few blankets too. Obviously keep checking the temperature by feeling their chest. A cold baby is a crying baby.
Advice in the uk is that baby should be wearing one more layer than you are wearing.
thanks!! I haven’t tried the snow suit yet so im not quite sure how it fits but I want her to play in the snow so I would think I’d have to get some proper boots for it and gloves. I just don’t know what to buy to Have her seamlessly covered if that makes sense without the gaps? I am thinking of taking her in the carrier up the mountain. It’ll be where people are skiing etc so it will be freezing. I am thinking about just getting a snowsuit that covers her completely but I feel I need to try and make this work if it can.
Getting one with the built in hand and foot covers would be best if you want her to play in the snow freely.
Snow always finds it's way into these snowsuits no matter what.
We have the hands and feet built to our snowsuit but still got boots, gloves, balaclava from here, worked great in snowy weather -

Put gloves and boots on first, then snowsuit so they are tucked in nicely. Highly recommend putting it on and going out for practice a few times to get her used to being all suited up, it’s very new to them 😊

if you put her gloves and socks on before the suit then it should cover seamlessly at the joints. But obviously would be best to have one with it all built in.
Take a change of clothes for her for when shes finished playing and then an additional snow suit so that way when shes done playing she doesn’t have to sit in her wet and cold clothes. If theres spaces available to change her of course.

Our LO’s favorite activities in the snow the first time was sliding down a tiny snow pile (with mommy holding) and supported walking in the snow. Also watching the dog in the snow ☺️ hope you guys have fun! ❄️🤍🤍🤍
