Safe, Affordable Apartments around KC
Hi everyone! My husband and I recently moved from Virginia and had to rent a house without being able to tour. It’s a nice house but not the best neighborhood and we had so many problems with the rental company. I’m due in early August and we don’t want to raise the baby at this house (plus rent is increasing 20%). Our lease is up at the end of July (great timing I know), so we are trying to be proactive about finding a place to move into around the beginning of July so I have at least a month to nest.
Does anyone have any suggestions for affordable, safe housing for a small family of 3? Maybe places you or friends/family have lived? Willing to look anywhere around the KC metro area, and so far I’m not finding a lot of great options. Thank you so much for any help you can offer!

I lived in prairie village! Corinth Paddock has nice apartments!! Very safe area in the Corinth square. Great price for the area.
I live in KC between Raytown and LS in a townhome community and haven’t had any issues here. Our neighbors are amazing. Summit Crossing Apartments and Townhomes. Not sure what your budget is though.
ALSO what part of Virginia are you from?? I’m also from Virginia in between Richmond and VA Beach! 😊
max budget at the moment is around $1400, but anything cheaper is great haha
Oh my gosh! I grew up in a place called Bristol near the Tennessee border, but I went to college in Newport News!
aw darn that doesn’t fit into your budget. 😢 everything is so expensive. I would check the lees summit area though. Not sure what pricing is like now since we’ve been in this townhome since 2022.
