helping baby learn to sit

my little girl is 5 months old almost 6 and she’s hit all her milestones quite fast so far but she doesn’t even seem close to being able to sit up when i try to help her she always just leans forward over her legs, I don’t know what else i can do to help her learn, any advice?

Tripod sitting is good! My baby literally started to sit on his own the day before he was 6 months old

That's the start! She'll get it!

@Paige what she's doing when she leans forward. That's called tripod sitting. It helps them strengthen their core

that's how my baby learned to sit up too. I started sitting on the ground with her between my legs with her legs spread open and I helped her keep her balance without interfering too much. She would lean forward in the beginning and now she sits by herself
