So I’m home with my four month old all day long, and while I’m not complaining, at times it’s a lot and need a break. Well my partner works full time mostly Monday-Friday and sometimes Saturdays depending. Generally it’s 8 hrs a day but no more than 10 hrs. Anyway, I’m normally more happy, or what not when he isn’t home and am okay with being alone, I do miss him and want him home so I know I can have some help with the baby. But also at times when he does get home I’m more frustrated because I know around the time she will want to eat again or what she may want and I’ve told him what she likes, as far as changing positions etc. He will be on his phone browsing Facebook, tik tok, or playing his game sometimes. Anyway, he will hear her get fussy etc and blow it off until she cries then wants to worry about it and since I’m with her all the time it gets on my nerves. I’m the type I know in a few minutes she will be hungry despite her crying of whining about it and make a bottle so when she does get hungry I’m ready for her. I don’t know I just get so burned out and empty feeling because I am the last to get what I need in every way and then I don’t feel like doing anything else. Just wondered if anyone else partner was that way or not. He does help but a lot of times not without be explaining or having to tell him so it overall feels like I’m alone.

I felt this way for a while until I felt like I was about to explode. I had to have a serious talk with him. I am a previous teacher and have seen how phones and tech devices have become the focus instead of spending time with children. I refuse to raise my child in a house where he feels like mom and or dad's phone is more important than him.
After talking with my husband I think there have been some positive changes. I tried not to be hateful, like why don't you spend the time watching videos and such after the baby is in bed? We are both working on building healthy habits, after my son was born I realized I would just aimlessly scroll, so I woke up a bit and was like no more.

We live in this "instant gratification" world and it is sometimes hard to build those healthy habits. But I think taking baby steps is a great way to start.

the thing is I have talked to him about it and all that but slowly go back into the same pattern and I’m trying to give him benefit of the doubt because he was used to a ex here they never spent time together etc but it’s been almost two years you would think something would give by now

Mine is like this too. I am sorry, I know it is so fuckin tough.

I'm sorry. Being a mom is so hard and on top of being let down by your partner is so undeserving. I have suggested to my husband that I am at the point of needing couples counseling. You could maybe try that.. 🙃🙃

some days he is better but others he just drops the ball and if he would just tell me he doesn’t feel like it it would be better instead I assume he doesn’t care etc. But I never get time off so must be nice, even if I get out as soon as I walk in the door or get done showering etc it’s here’s the baby back

he “jokes” about having more although I had a rough pregnancy and birth so I’m not looking for more so it frustrates me that is even a joke after he saw what all I went though and still do
