Listen i know i should be body positive and embrace them but im actually really sad about mine. hitting 34 weeks thinking i was gonna be clear of them and discover ive got some on both sides of my stomach:(
ive had stretchmarks before. on my boobs and they’ve faded now so i dont really think about them anymore but you can still tell ive had them. it’s not major but every now and then i look at them and do get a little sad.
All the research i’ve been doing says you can’t avoid them, and it’s due to genetics, but nobody else in my family seems to have ever had them.
It also says no creams or lotions or anything will actually help prevent them but ive seen loads of people showing products they’ve used to help get rid/ minimise/ avoid them and wanted to know if anybody had anything or any tips??
im 20, and already sad about my body and everything, and after my midwife appointment, so scared about giving birth and what thats going to do to my body im just super sad and anxious about it all and would love to know if there is like ANYTHING i can do about somewhat keeping my body nice/ helping go back to somewhat normal
im so excited for my little girl to be here but the depression has really kicked in about my body and myself and i just don’t wanna go into a really deep depression before and after my birth, i wanna be as happy and capable to look after her and not also have to worry about myself on top of being a new n single mum :(

It’s honestly okay. Here is my stretch mark. The hips one is from my first baby. I have them all the way to my back. But I didn’t really care cos I escaped the belly one. Now 34weeks with my second and they appeared on my belly and hands. Girl when I told you I cried😭. Having them on my belly is my biggest insecurity. It took me weeks to embrace them. I was depressed cos I beer imagine it. But now I am starting to embrace it because thinking of how much this pregnancy has stressed me. Thinking about how I am currently on hospital bed. The stretch mark is an indication you are a mother and it’s all worth it when baby is here

Don’t feel bad for feeling this way girl! They will probably fade after birth. Get some bio oil and vitamin e oil and rub it all over and during summer try to put the oils on with cocoa butter and sunscreen and sit in the sun and it actually helps them heal but not too much sun or they will burn 🩷

I felt a little upset when I saw mine. Cause I’m also a few days away from 35 weeks and they seemed to appear out of nowhere. 😭

I’m 7 days postpartum and my stretch marks are one of the best things about
Myself, your body is doing incredible things and is growing a baby, your going to be an awesome mum, you are doing amazing already ❤️

I got a couple towards the end of my pregnancy. They were really bad up to 4 weeks PP but now you can barely see them. You can tell they are there but so much lighter than I imagined. I used bio oil. No they didn’t get rid of them but made them not so noticeable!

Get some bio oil, it’s the only thing that will help xx

Oh gosh I feel you! My mom had none with both her pregnancies so I was thinking yay maybe I won’t, I went the whole pregnancy without a single one and now 2 weeks pp and they’ve started coming as my tummy is shrinking back down. But honestly, it is what it is and eventually they will fade and hopefully we won’t even think about it. We are moms and I suppose it’s inevitable 🙌🏼☺️

Thank you for sharing mumma 🥹
see i love them on other people i think they’re so pretty! but i think them being on my self and so purple and coming on so quickly it’s just made me abit sad. i had them on my boobs a few years ago and really don’t mind them anymore especially since they’ve gone down so much now but think as they’re new and fresh it’s just made me a little insecure but you’re so right ❤️ thank you

abit late to it but i’ve got bio oil, bio oil lotion and palmers lotion and hopefully that helps them fade abir more. Thank you 🩷 think just because they’re so purple and suddenly come out of nowhere they just took me by surprise !

Right?! 😭 i’ve just bought bio oil, bio oil lotion and palmers lotion hopefully that helps, ill let you know if you’d like ☺️

Thank you for your kind words mumma 🩷🥹 i’m sure i’ll learn to live with them they just took me by surprise !!

You’re so right! thank you ☺️ unfortunately i’m late on the bio oil n everything but i hope that because ive started now, every day that helps what ive got fade and potentially stop anymore 🥲❤️

right!! like i feel so unlucky and my mums telling me she never did 🥲
You’re so right, we are all going through this as mummas so i’m not alone and neither are you. i’m sure i’ll learn to love them as time goes on and my little one is here and settling in. just a reminder of growing her inside of me ☺️❤️

yeah I’d love to know what seems to work. Cause no lie. The bio oil is so expensive. But if it works…

it really is isn’t it!!
i’ll deffo keep ya updated!
but honestly i used Bio oil when i was younger on Self Hrm scars on my arms n legs and after using it for a little while they actually disappeared! that’s why ive got hope they’ll work this time too but again ill keep you updated !
athena Palmers stretchmarks lotion i also used on my boobs two years ago and with that, and i think being out in the sun they’re virtually invisible now! unless if you actually look n move my skin so that’s why ive come back to ur again hoping it’ll do the same thing, but again ill keep you updated after a lil bit to see how this all works with my pregnancy and what happens! ❤️🫶🏼
