So my little one (well she’s 3 but little to me) has started having dreams and three times this week woke up crying saying “mommy I flew” or “mommy bad dream” and I console her cause she seems terrified of them. I try to ask her to talk me about but then again, she’s three, she doesn’t know all the words and sentences yet. Most I get is mommy disappeared or she was flying and fell. Which when I was younger, had the same dream of flying then falling. It meant an angel was taking you and you weren’t ready so they dropped you back down to earth (or so I was told.).
Is there anyone else got opinions about how to explain dreams to a little one? I just say “It’s a dream it’s not real my little love.” And I take her back to bed for a cuddle. Sometimes she wants to sleep and rest on my chest cause she wants to hear my heart.
Gosh am I doing too much? Am I spoiling her too much with all things? Am I raising her clingy? Now I’m overthinking it all 😭

In her dreams does she fly around the room or does she leave the house? Curious as I also had flying dreams at around 3 and still recall them - they were terrifying and I dont recall my parents comforting me. I’d wake up on the other side of the room each morning. I’d say do what you can to provide her reassurance, even if you need to be in her room overnight to make sure she’s ok.
