We use Thermos Funtainer with the straw and he just learned. It took about a day and a half for him to realize that he had to drink through the straw to get anything out. He was a little frustrated but figured it out. I like that the straw is short so he can’t gag himself but I do only fill the bottle halfway because it leaks when he throws it.

We skipped the sippy cup completely. It’s actually not supposed to be that good for them 🤷♀️ we went straight into a straw cup and it’s great!🧡

Same! We skipped the sippy cups and went straight to straws. Took just a few tries and he figured it out!

Which straw are you using ?

we have the OXO Tot Transitions Straw Cup. I like the one with the handles so he can hold it easily by himself.
I’ve tried several other straw cups, including the Dr Brown’s because those are the milk bottles he used, but a lot of them I found leak! The OXO is the only one that hasn’t leaked for me.

I skipped the sippy cup bc my baby just thinks its a toy🤦🏽♀️ we use the 360 munchkin cup its spill proof and she got used to it pretty fast

We skipped the snippy cup, too. We have 3 different cups with straws, and we are using open cups at home. She learns how to drink for the open cup, but we are learning how to put back the cup without throwing water.

She never used a sippy cup went to straw cups. We get the dollar tree ones in the baby section., they don’t spill and the straw is skinny not thick like other brands

The munchkin 360 cups are great because they protect from spills like a sippy cup, but the drinking feels very close to a regular open cup. Sippy cups can be hard to learn how to use! My boy loves straws, too, but they can be messier.

I just introduced a cup with a straw and never gave him a sippy cup and he just learned pretty much right away. Now he drinks from either a straw or directly from a regular cup light enough he can hold with his hands and feed himself with. Which is meant to be better for them

We went straight to the open cup. It was very messy in the beginning but he is getting much better.
