I'm so stressed. I've tried not to compare with others but it's impossible when I'm on these pages or at baby clubs..
My little girl was 8 months on the 2nd and she was saying dadada but now she's hardly babbling and I've seen other babies saying mamama, dadada and bababa. She also twiddles her fingers alot, like opening and closing her hands. She laughs when I play with her but won't copy me, I've seen other babies will copy their parent ie. Peekaboo and stuff
She's teething just now and close to crawling so I'm hoping it's just that but I can't help looking at milestones and worried she isn't hitting them.
Am I overthinking this?

I don’t think you should stress! My little boy is 7.5 months and I’ve NEARLY had a muuuuuummmu but no mamama dadada and he only really copies my facial expressions or blowing raspberries! I also worry about milestones but I think our babies are on track! Xx

Honestly don’t worry, the only consonant sound my baby makes us “aboooooob” - definitely no mama or dada yet. He’s not crawling either, although I can see him making progress towards it.
Honestly, our babies are only little once. Don’t wish them on to the next stage, just savour where they’re at and know that they’ll acquire the skills when they’re ready 😊
Thank you all this is really reassuring. It's just so hard not to compare 😢 my niece is non verbal with ASD and I think that's always in the back of my mind. Xx

We have no mama and dada either yet, just lots of babbling! Don’t you worry ❤️

Sounds like she’s doing exactly what she should be.
My little girl started crawling 2 days ago and hasn’t done it since 😂 she will copy me when she feels like it and she’s not said any words yet apart from babababa and I think it’s purely because she likes the sound 😂 some of the milestones have such wide gaps as it can literally months apart when they do things. Interesting I watched something on identical twins and even they sometimes had months between them doing things.
Think unfortunately the mums who are constantly posting about how proud they are of their babies that are already counting to 10 and running marathons don’t sometimes realise the impact they have on other mums x
I think this is exactly it! There was a post about someones little one and what they could say and then loads of other people in the comments saying oh mines can say hello and mines can do animal noises and that's when I started to panic. At the moment absolutely everything is going in her mouth to chew so I'm hoping when her teeth push through she will start to babble more xx

My little girls the same. She’s more likely to blow a rasberry than say mama 😂 but she’s happy she’s got her own little personality and will do things when she’s ready. Delayed speech is actually only classed as delayed over the age of 2 and it’s so common for babies to only be able to say a few words by the age of 1 and 1 and a half anyway. Understanding will come first then speech x

And some babies can be attempting to speak but haven’t reached physical milestones your baby has. They are all little individuals x

Comparison is the thief of joy.
I repeat the above daily 😘.

oh I like this! X
love this. Need to remind myself ❤️❤️
