My son has been standing by pulling himself up on his own for about 3 months now. I know he doesn’t need to hold on to anything, he’s 100% strong enough, but he still wants to hold on to something. He will even walk holding onto things. When he goes to sit down from standing he let’s go or what he’s holding on to (stands alone for a quick second) and squats controllably to sit. I’ve tried holding his hands and letting go but he just immediately fails. We had a walker but it broke, besides that I felt it didn’t really help because it was hard to move, our whole house is carpet. Any tips? I know he’s ready.

Keep supporting and doing what you are doing , he’ll get there! I’ve had my little one walk between the couch and myself, that has helped build confidence. I feel like my little one spent 2 months holding onto everything before he really started taking steps on his own! He’ll get there!

Feel like I'm in the exact same boat. She's been standing and assisted shuffling for months. Not sure what else I can do either? Has anyone else tried the ball in each hand?

Same here following

I have done that and it does help! You just can’t force it, babies do what is fastest and the easiest and until walking is the fastest for them that’s when they will do it. I didn’t realize notice anything gradual, it was like one day my little one was walking more and more!

I LOVE seeing the snacks on the play pen floor make me feel better that I’m not the only mom that does it

In the same boat. I know my LO’s ready and he loves to walk. But he wants to hold onto something while walking.
PS: your baby is adorable!

My lo only stands when she pulls herself up with assistance or shift walks w one hand hanging onto something, I’ve been giving my lo a toy (plastic balls) in each hand , and that has drastically made her realize what she is doing and she’s been standing on own longer and trying to walk more now. It keeps them focused onto that rather than the fear of themself standing/walking. Otherwise all the advice i can give is keep supporting & doing it daily!! I know my lo gets more encouraged and happy when we cheer her on saying “Go Eliza go!” Or “yay” with clapping . My lo is almost 1 too!

I’m all for on demand feeding!💗

we tried it it didn’t work for us he just sat down anyways

I’m in the same boat over here, he practically RUNS with his Walker but he won’t walk unassisted

We got a Vtexh play cube and he was standing on his own within a couple weeks. I think having something to occupy his hands while he was standing helped him practice his balancing. First he would let go after he pulled himself to standing. Now he stands from sitting. Still working on balance and walking
