4 year old playing up

My 4 year old is an only child and has been very spoilt by myself which has come back to bite me. He’s always been such a good child but the last 2-3 he has been a nightmare! Throwing himself on the floor screaming when he doesn’t get his own way, biting and hiting, very short temper and very grumpy in general, especially when I say no him. He was such a happy lovely child and now it seems he is almost always crying or shouting and screaming. I’ve tried every approach. Putting him on the step/ turning the tv or his games off - he is so stubborn he just sits there and says “fine” an will sit in silence or screaming at me for over an hour till I give in. I’ve tried sitting him down and talking to him, he just screams in my face or starts rolling over on the floor crying. I’ve tried sticker charts and he loves the idea of it but when it comes to it he says I hate stickers and rips them up. I’m really struggling with how to go about it and my husband works away so I end up giving in because I just do not have the time or energy to manage him screaming and crying for over 1-2 hours. 😩 any advice welcomed!!

My little 3 year old is starting to be the same at the moment! You’re definitely not on your own! All I get is I hear I WANT …. !!! And her ears have seemed to have disappeared 🤦‍♀️it’s driving me crazy, we’ve just started a marble/ bouncey ball jar (it works like a sticker chart) but once she’s filled the jar we go to the toy shop (the local charity shop) I know it’s extreme but we have began praising her for literally everything little good thing in the hope that we can kill her with kindness, because telling her off every 5 minutes isn’t good for anyone and it does take about 48 bouncey balls to fill the jar.
