Has anyone else ever experienced their rib popping out of place in late pregnancy? I'm 36 weeks on Saturday, I have had this pain for two weeks now and was recommended to see a chiropractor. I've been to 5 appointments since Thursday last week and it's only made things worse, I'm basically bed-ridden now. This pain is unbearable at this point.
I see my OB tomorrow but literally any advice helps.

What side is your rib pain on?

@Sheala the right side, OB told me last week my rib is popped out of place and to see a chiropractor but the chiro made the pain a million times worse, it has me waking up all night and I can't do much but lay on my back now

I've had my rib out before it's super uncomfortable. Have you been checked for pre-eclampsia and or gall stones/choleostasis? Your liver and gall bladder are on your right side.

Just seems like with that extreme of pain that something else might be going on

@Sheala that's exactly what I've said, that something else might be going on. It's constantly sore, stabbing, feels like there's a bubble there sometimes, I can't do much of anything without unbearable pain. It's almost warm/hot feeling too.
They checked me for pre-eclampsia and im cleared in that sense, but I have a bad feeling it's more than just a dislocated rib

@Sheala it almost internally itches too, it's the craziest pain I've ever felt. Never felt anything like it

Did they check you for choleostasis??

Yeah this sounds insane. You should go to labor and delivery and get checked out. The itching qnd right sided pain could be choleostasis. I know with gall bladder issues the pain can radiate to around to your upper back.

Also you know your body more than anyone. I would definitely tell them that something is really wrong and it's not an out of place rib. Even ask for an ultrasound for your gall bladder.

@Sheala it does exactly that it radiates around to my back, and I just get extremely anxious pushing doctors like that. My OB said he could literally feel the rib out of place, I go to see him today at 2 so I'm hoping I'm able to really push this issue to him.
I've also not been able to properly have a bowel movement for 4 weeks, he didn't really take that super seriously either. I'm at a loss with these doctors

@Shannon honestly if he's not listening to you, go to L&D and they will run tests there. You have to advocate for yourself because some doctors refuse to listen. Look I had an autoimmune disease that started when I was around 23 years old. It took 5 years for someone to listen to me. My gums were blistering and I could barely drink water. I kept getting told I had allergies and I was too young to have an autoimmune disease. Anyways by the time I got someone willing to test me my disease had progressed to other areas of my body. So please don't think you're crazy. We know our bodies and know if there is something not right. If your OB isn't listening then go to L&D and get tested there. It's better to find out there's nothing wrong then something bad happen.

did you end up getting seen?

@Sheala yes my OB believes my rib is fractured

@Shannon π―π―π―. That's intense! I've had my ribs pop out and I get that naggy feeling but not intense pain. Dang how'd you break your rib?

@Sheala Literally no idea, I can't seem to catch a break π
