Does anyone else seem to have a baby who is always congested? I think it goes and then it comes back again! 🤦♀️

Oh my gosh! This is us too. I took her to the doctors too but they said she’s fine and some babies just get more congested. It’s frustrating as it effects her more when laying down so sleep is hard! I now use a humidifier in the room and calpol Vapor plug. Saline nasal spray and I put baby Vicks on my breasts so she can inhale whilst feeding (she’s exclusively breast fed). I figure something has to help!

so glad mine isn't the only one. I might take him to the docs anyway as he had bronchiolitis over xmas but he seems to constantly have the sniffles! We use the saline spray and a nasal aspirator but thats it. Its particularly bad at night and first thing in morning when hes been lying down! 🤦♀️

Same here. Good to know it is not just me

Ours is the same. I was told if they are a c section baby or born very quickly, then they are more prone to congestion. Not sure if that's the case for you or not 😀

oh how interesting! I had a very short labour so maybe that’s it!

My baby is always stuffy and snuffly I use the calpol plug in and I have some snuffle babe vapour rub I put on his chest and throat too both of these seem to work wonders for him

Hey ladies, my son was also like this from birth. He always sounded congested, but there was no sign of any snotty nose, etc..
I spoke to gp about this and was also told that he was absolutely fine and that there were no issues with his breathing, etc.. i was told by gp/health visitor ect that maybe because he was a csection, this was ongoing for weeks and weeks after he was born and a baby sounding mucousy/congested weeks after a c section is NOT normal.
I really struggled putting him on his back at night as he would gag constantly I had a private oral function carried out because I was convinced I was due to a tongue tie and the way he was latching, etc..
I was correct. I had a tongue tie snip, and since apart from when he actually has a cold, there is no congestion..

Our son was congested for 12 weeks and it would come and go but always come back and it was the most draining thing listening to it night after night that by early morning we’d end up getting up with him. Spices/health visitor said it’s normal. Tried crainial osteopath which helped a bit then it would return. Swapped milk and went down cmpa route and within a week it had gone and never has come back
