Cows milk/allergy testing

Hi ladies, I suspect my baby has silent reflux , do they do allergy testing on the nhs if you request?
Or how do they assess for silent reflux etc . Any insight would be appreciated xx

They don’t do any type of testing until they’re older from what I know. Is it just reflux? What are their symptoms?

They don't do any testing as it involves putting lots of needles in. I think my little also has cow milk protein allergy. He develops rashes when I have dairy.
I went to GP, they suggested to do a trial and error with diet and see what works. They won't test until after child is 5-6 yes old.
Hope it helps.
Good luck!

My baby has all the symptoms of reflux vomiting without effort, pain with wind, lots of hiccups, crying after feeds, irritable during feeds, wet sounding burps, hoarseness, cough after burping etc but she's also got this rash which is now making me think it's potentially an allergy. Has anyone had to switch formula and found it helped?

my baby has all these symptoms too, minus the rash. He had like a rash recently but don’t think it was associated with the milk

Allergy U.K. have trained dieticians that can offer you initial free advice if you think your baby has a cows milk allergy. You could ask your GP to refer you to a dietician at the hospital. Keep lots of notes of your baby’s symptoms and timings of when things flare up etc if it’s ongoing. You will get told to eliminate diary from your diet if you’re breastfeeding and then slowly re introduce starting with milk back into your diet after 6 weeks (so baby’s gut has chance to heal). Unfortunately cows milk allergy symptoms are super similar to other things but the main ones to differ form the rest are rashes/eczema and noticable change in poos (they’re usually frothy and explosive and baby has trouble getting them out or the opposite and can be diarrhoea) xx
