How long do you keep baby mittens on for?
My baby is almost 4 weeks and since born I have kept her in pjs with mittens to avoid scratching.
Two days ago I filed her nails really well to start switching her to regular outfits without mittens but she’s still aggressively grabbing her face, eyes, hair and even her head skin.. I’m scared she’ll harm herself.

I tried mittens and she hated it so we never used them. She scratched her face one time but apart from that she only scratches mom and daddy’s chest 🤣. I filed her nails but somehow they’re still very very sharp.

My 1 month old still wears mittens because he will go to town on his face while he’s sleeping or gets upset
With my first, she continued to grab at her face up until around 3 or 4 months. She would get frustrated if she didn’t get the bottle quick enough and just kind of clench her hands so hard close to her face that it caused scratches. We never used mittens for her. Instead we used socks as mittens 😅 they worked!
Mine is 7 weeks and I still have them on her. Lol when she’s had them off she’s grabbed and pulled her hair two times and made herself cry. And yesterday her dad took them off and she scratched her face up 🤦♀️
I keep her nails short and filed but those little claws are dangerous lol
I stopped at two weeks. I file often but she still manages to get her face once in a while. Scariest is when she goes for her eyes but it’s never hurt her. They start to learn to use them and need them. We are currently getting used to her not being swaddled as she’s started rolling. She turns eight weeks tomorrow.
