What do y’all think? I asked my doctor, what should I do if my baby doesn’t come around my due date which is Feb 19 and she said I should schedule an induction cause that will take about 2-3 weeks to schedule at the hospital and by that time I’ll be 39-40 weeks. Should I schedule the induction just in case baby doesn’t come out? Or just wait it out, I just don’t want to go past 40 weeks and if I don’t schedule that induction asap and wait till the 40 weeks then I’d have to wait even longer!

Your due date is just an estimate. Your baby will come when they are ready. Could be anywhere from 38 weeks to 42. An induction is harder on the body and baby. And you will have a higher chance to get a csection if you go that route.

My induction is prescheduled for 41 weeks in case he doesn't come naturally beforehand. I would recommend going ahead and scheduling it for around the 26th-4th if you're due the 19th.

If you don't want to go past 40 weeks schedule it for 40 weeks like your doctor said, you can always cancel it or ask for it to be pushed further out. If you're done then you're done, as long as they say both you and baby are healthy there's nothing wrong with being done.
I'm going to be asking to get an induction scheduled for 39/40 weeks tomorrow at my appt. I'm done being pregnant and there's been zero indications that it would harm me or baby.

I’d say schedule just in case. Can never be too prepared

I am waiting. If I go past 40 then I guess I’ll have to be miserable a little longer. Due dates are just guesses so I think my body and baby will do it when they are ready. I was induced with my first and I have no desire to experience pitocin again

I’m due the 18th and I scheduled my induction for the 19th bc that’s the only week my husband can get off with pay. I feel the same way though! I’m nervous about it and just hope I can deliver naturally before then. I scheduled it but I know I can still cancel it anytime if I decide I just don’t want to.

It is always better to wait naturally. That baby has a plan already and it will come when it’s ready! Unless it’s an emergency with you or the baby or you reach 42 weeks and still haven’t gone into labor then an induction shouldn’t be considered.

Normally those full term should be given higher priority when it comes to inductions. For my first we scheduled an induction at 41 weeks but we didn’t schedule until I was like 39+5. This time we are going to schedule for 39+6 at my 36 week appointment this week. We almost scheduled it last week but I was out sure on the date. We hope he comes on his own but with my body we know it is not likely.
