I had my first baby girl this December and she’s grown out of her newborn clothes so I have them put away in a box. My mom works out of my house and she was here today with one of her friends and her friends daughter who is 8 months pregnant with her first girl. My mom pulled out the box of baby clothes I had put away and tried to give them to her friends daughter without even asking me. I hid the clothes and then went out with my husband, daughter and best friend. She then called me asking where the box was because she was going to give it to this girl. I told her I don’t know and then we hung up. Am I wrong for wanting to keep my baby’s clothes ? Mind you they’re not struggling for money, everyone works including the girl, mom, and the baby daddy. What should I say to my mom next time I see her ? My husband and I also plan on having more kids in the future as well and my mom knows this.

You’re not wrong. Especially if you’re planning on having another kid. However if you aren’t going to have any more kids I would suggest putting aside any outfits with sentimental value and parting with the rest when you’re ready.

Um tell your mom not to offer your baby’s clothes to anyone if you or your husband didn’t , not your baby not your problem. She is definitely overstepping her place
