2w PP scar + massage & silicon patches?

Hiya! I’m 2w PP today and I was wondering if my incision looks alright and on track?

Visiting midwives don’t seem concerned but I’d like to hear from people that have had caesareans before as this was my first one.

Also, when did you start using silicone patches/doing scar massages?

I’ve ordered a belly band and can’t wait to start wearing it as my back is killing.

The soft pouch overhang bit of my belly is still tender but most of the swelling seems to have gone down.

Pls excuse the black bits, it’s not dirt but just the glue from the original dressing + cotton from black underwear and I can’t rub it off properly after showers as it’s all a bit tender still. Xx

I don’t know much about patches or scar massages but I’m 7w PP from c section and I think your incision looks amazing for being only 2w PP! I definitely recommend wearing the belly band as it also helps to compress the incision and making moving around feel easier. The tenderness is completely normal, I’m 7wks and I still feel tenderness here and there some days!

I had a c section 8 months ago. I have found that the ‘soft pouch’ has naturally shrunk for me. I haven’t done anything apart from a bit of cream on the scar. Time will heal - let your body do its think

Also just leave it be dont bother putting stuff on it yet as it needs to breathe as it finishes healing.

Do you think I should avoid wearing a belly band as well? I’m really desperate for some back support and have ordered one but hasn’t arrived yet. 🫠

Silicone is best to be used from 6 weeks when you’ve had your PP check up from the GP, that’s when I’ve started using mine, I used it around the same time with my first too :) xx
