Depending on how you keep on track with washing and sanitising we had 6 but came to a realisation we didn’t really need that many on daily basis :)

I went over board about brought like 20+ but gave some away in the end. Newborn my baby had a bottle like every 2 hours and I would forget to keep on top of cleaning and sterilising and drying ect. So for me, 12 was a good amount but now, I have 5 and he's 6 months x

For a newborn they need the smaller OZ bottles I’d recommend 2-4 of them and the bigger one also 2-4 of them when u introduce water to your baby u may need a bottle just for that. But make sure you sanitize between use. But all babies can be different from my experience I’ve seen breastfed babies refusing bottles.

We've always used 6, it lasts us all day, so we wash/sterilise and prep the formula pots in the evening and we're good for the night and following day. Sometimes we have to wash one in the evening if she's wanted an extra feed, or only drank half of one and wanting more later etc, but 6 has been perfect for us!
We only had 4 of the smallest mam bottles to begin with and that was fine too, just needed to wash and sterilise more often
The mam starter pack was great, I think it comes with 6x medium, and 6x large bottles and size 1+2 teats which is all you need!

Any less than 10 it will feel like you’re constantly washing and sterilising bottles x
