Oscar the Grouch is green?
I love Oskar for some reason just think it is aesthetically pleasing. But I do get the forever telling people how it is spelt as I've always had to do that too. I like flynn for a red head 😍
People will spell it wrong all the time if you spell it Oskar! It can wear thin, but if you don’t mind and you like it, it’s a lovely spelling. Nobody has ever been able to spell my name, annoying as it is, it hasn’t ruined my life x
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” just keep the name as it is, Oscar is a lovely name without needing to be messed with. I also don’t think the change in spelling will encourage Oski as a nickname.
I like both. Oskar is the correct way to spell it in some countries, so I don't think it's that out there. And as someone with a name that automatically gets spelt incorrectly, it's never bothered me. Most of the time, people think I'm a boy 😂
Thanks everyone for your input. 😊
I agree that Oskar and Oski are a nicer version but ya people will always spell it Oscar. If it was me I would probably go with the spelling Oscar to save the hassle but still use the nn Oski. Definitely a tough call though, it’s a nice name. I Wouldn’t worry about the red head thing at least because Oscar the grouch is green and brown lol You might also like names like Oslo Orin Oxley Otto Owen Oberon Orson
Oskar sounds like a Turkish chocolate lol
i personally prefer Oskar - both in terms of how it looks visually, and also because i love Oski as a nickname so much more than Ozzy. Oskar will likely be misspelled as Oscar, just because it is the more common spelling of the name (assuming you live in the UK or US etc) - but Oskar is a totally legitimate spelling of the name, just more popular in Scandinavia/Germany etc - it's not a made-up, "creative" spelling of Oscar, as some people seem to think. i guess it depends on deciding whether it would annoy you to have to correct people on spelling, but personally i think it's worth it - especially with Oski as a nickname! 💙
I loooove Oskar, I love Eastern spellings of names they look so much more multidimensional!
Oscar
I like Oscar, but spell it normally
