Nappy rash help??

My poor boy has had 7 poos today, not diarrhoea as such but quite slimy and some escaped the nappy. They seem quite acidic, he’s developed an awful nappy rash and screams when I wipe/dab his bottom 😭
He’s never had a nappy rash before!
He has his first 2 teeth and we didn’t run into too much issues when they come through, but I’m wondering whether this is all because he’s teething?
He doesn’t seem under the weather in any way other than chewing everything, drooling everywhere and just a bit irritable on and off.

I’ve already been using luke warm water to wash his area when changing his nappy, dabbing dry with a muslin & applying metanium as well as letting him have some nappy free time! Is there anything else that could help him? 😪

Definitely keep allowing him to have lots of nappy free time where possible is best, I was using metanium one change, then sudocrem the next and then metanium again, don’t do nappy up too tight. Sounds like you’re doing everything right. It can be linked to teething, if it doesn’t clear up/improve after a week you can go to the doctors and they can give steroid cream xx

thank you! It’s so hard, I try keep his nappy off as long as possible but he’s pooping so much I have to put it back on him after about 20 mins in case of mess 🫣 poor boy, breaks my heart making him cry 😪
Thank you, if it’s not calmed down or gone by Wednesday ish i’ll contact the GP xx

My lo always poo’s loads when he’s teething and they seem to smell like vinegar to me 💩🫣.
From what you say your doing sounds exactly what I do accept I don’t use cream for mine he screams more with cream on. I do run him a little bath and wash him there and clean him. I appreciate it is a bit excessive especially if they’re pooing frequently.
I also gave my lo ibuprofen, only as a one off.
It is heartbreaking when they’re crying so much. Hope it improves soon x

I could’ve written this! We are having the same issue, poos after each feed and they are watery and mucusy. I put it down to teething initially but the teeth have now cut through and the poos continue to be watery - GP has done a stool sample to see if it’s a bug or anything untoward as it’s been a week now. I’d suggest doing the same, always best to check! x
