Eating skips crisps

We visited my sister in law today at one point she took baby out to the kitchen with her to get something, I walked in as a few mins had passed and she was feeding my baby skips. She said her 3 children had skips they are easy dissolvable for them and won’t cause any harm.. I wasn’t sure how to feel about this. Is it ok she’s had skips, she’s 8 months old?! I personally wouldn’t want her having them and a bit annoyed I wasn’t asked first!!

Id give my daughter them, shes had some wotsits i was eating

@Jess that makes me feel better 😅 we have only ever fed her fruit and veg and potatoes etc was unsure about the salt content. Il calm down now lol x

Fine for her to have them from a food perspective. I think it’s more annoying that your SIL didn’t ask if it was okay before giving your baby them. But I think that anyone should ask parents permission before giving food to a baby

I agree a few skips in themselves are fine for baby BUT nobody should be feeding baby anything without checking with you first!

My 2 year old has had them once or twice when I was eating them. The reason I wouldn’t give them to my 7 month old is because they’re so sugary. She definitely should have asked. It’s a massive overstep.

I wouldn’t go feeding baby crisps on a regular basis at all but having a couple of skips isn’t going to do any harm. It’s still fine for you to not be happy that food was given without first asking you.

They’re not the best for salt / sugar content but a couple wouldn’t do any harm. That said I’d be furious if anyone fed my baby without asking me first and would have had a few choice strong words for your SIL. Irrespective of what others have done, it’s your baby and your decisions and boundaries should be respected xx

A couple of them is okay. But I’d be fuming that I wasn’t asked if it was okay before hand.
