Hi lovely ladies. I just wonder if any of you would be kind enough to help me and give me a little bit of advise on what baby clothes to buy for new born and how many. Hats, gloves, baby suits with short and long sleeves, do I need T-shirts and trousers/dresses. I don’t want to be buying stuff which I won’t use or need. It will be my first baby… I’m sure there is some ladies here with experience who can help. It will be much appreciated.❤️ thank you and I wish you all the best xx

Zipper footies with the sleeves that can fold over their hands to create mittens is all mine wore for the first month! I would have 2-3 hats, small blankets and that’s it! Mine was born before Christmas so i bought a couple special Christmas outfits but other than that he stayed in the footies

I'll be honest and suggest you don't need as much as you think! With the rate they grow at and a washing machine a few clothes go a long way! Plus, we found we were given a lot of newborn/ 0-3 months clothes anyway.

Thank you so much 😘😘

Don't buy any outfits, you'll probably get gifted some. It's so much easier to just use vests and sleepsuits. We had about 15 of each in newborn, probably a few more in 0-3. You might need more if your baby is very sicky (my niece got through 5-6 outfits per day, my son would usually only need one and the days it was more was because of any exploding nappy).

Thank you 🙏 xx

My LG is 3 months now and I honestly got her more clothes than I own 😂 but all I really dressed her in up till now was babygrows/sleepsuits and they have built in mittens. Occasionally I put her in a dress or romper for family meals or outings. I know everyone’s different but I did also get most of her clothes from vinted as they grow out of them so quickly!xx

Thank you 💕

Hi Marqla, congratulations 💕 I have been buying baby stuff since 18 years and got some more over year ago but lost a baby. So I do have a lot, that’s why I asked this question to know if I’m actually ready if I missed something. Thankfully I was buying from new born to 18 months so it’s all spread out. Xxx

sorry to hear that my dear! take care and I wish you all the best ❤️

Buy a few cute outfits but easiest ones when they are first born are onsies (zip) and leggings / top combos.
People will probably buy you loads so no need to go mad.
Dresses/dungarees/jeans all sit uncomfortably on the baby and you are constantly rearranging the outfit.
Do not bother with gloves/ mittens they fall off. Just buy socks and use them on the hands instead.
Get one pram suit and some cellular blankets.
They do not need a hat indoors after they come home from the hospital.

Thank you lovely xxx

Absolutely just stick with sleepsuits and vests. The ones with zips are brilliant. Be sure to get newborn ones as well as 0-3 months. And a couple of hats.
With my first I found I didnt put her in anything else for the first few months. You can always get a cute outfit to bring baby home in for photos but otherwise I wouldnt bother as it is so fiddly to try and dress them in and you dont need that added stress 😅

Thank you Kirsty 😘
