So, I’m having a bit of an issue with deciding on location to raise my unborn child. I’m currently in LA but moved from NYC. I really want to move back to NYC but I’m hearing it’s a mess right now. Any opinions or advice?

Raising a child takes a village and coming from someone who doesn’t have one. If you’ll have a bigger support system in nyc. Definitely move back!

Hi! I moved from L.A to NYC and it's the people they'd be influenced by here that has me looking out of state too early to
However, if you have a support system here, then I'd say it's better to be at least on the east coast. But overall this place is not for raising kids.

Yes, my biggest supporter system is closer that way. I have friends I’ve made here since moving in 2021. And the income is much higher. But my family is in Michigan which is closer to NYC and my closest friends are in NYC.

definitely important who we have around our children and what influences them. I would only want to stay in NYC until they are four. I’ve been wanting to move back since moving 😅 it’s home for me. But now I have to actually decide and make the best choice without myself being the center of it.

I felt that heavy. Ironically I wanted to go back to L.A because L.A is MY home lmao born and raised but I know better than trying to raise a kid there especially rn. I miss it so much and my family out there. But just like you; it's not about me but about my kid/s. So more power to you. Tough choice but you got this.

I was raised in NYC after moving from LA when I was 7. It’s a great place to raise kids! You have to teach your kids to be resilient and believe in themselves and trust their instincts no matter where they’re raised.. here you have access to all the culture in the world. Any interests they have can be nurtured here. Your child will be exposed to influences you don’t care for no matter where you live. Teach them not to be followers and they’ll be just fine.

I was gonna say the same thing. I wouldnt live in either places. Angel I would suggest you to move to a state where you can provide real stability for your child. I dont think NYC or LA will provide that for you bc these are 2 of some of the most expensive cities in the nation. Your family can give you some support but they’re not gonna pay your bills sis. Your life will completely change now that youre about to become a mother. I left NY when my daughter was 6 months old. It was the best decision of our lives. The life we’re providing for my daughter, I doubt we’d have that type of lifestyle if I was still living in NYC. Be smart.

True! That’s what makes it hard. I’m originally from suburban Midwest and it was nice for families but also it’s better to have money in places like that. Just so your child doesn’t feel left out. And I wouldn’t want to raise a child outside of the suburbs if it’s not the LA or NY. I’d have to find a state somewhere diverse, safe, affordable and suitable. Tough choices

Please don’t move back unless you’re moving into Long Island I mean deep Long Island. 🤷🏻♀️ Texas seems to be very family oriented
