Pregnancy/labour

I’ve got a 2 year old and next year wanting to start to try for another, but I’m still absolutely traumatised from my labour as it was horrific, who could I speak to to help this make it abit easier??? As I’m not sure I even want to go through with it either 😟😟

Any help would be appreciated

There should be a department called the Afterbirth listening team, and the midwife can talk through the birth with you and stuff, hopefully that will help

I’d go for a planned section it will be such a nicer experience I promise you and recovery is not too bad

they said to me that I would have to go for one after the circumstances last time anyway I ended up having an emergency one last time 😟

Where is this at the hospital like how do I get in touch????

it probably differs between areas, but maybe Google your hospital and the listening service and see what comes up? It was my midwife for my current pregnancy that referred me but I know you can usually self refer too. Have a look on your areas hospital maternity website and look under postnatal advice or services

So one thing I will say is no 2 labours are the same. With my first I was in labour for 26 hours and was pushing for over 2 hours and ended up with 3rd degree tear and he had to be a forceps delivery, next step was emergency c-section if that didn’t work as his heart rate dropped in the 20’s as we were both exhausted and he just wasn’t coming out; he was also premature. My 2nd labour I was tempted to opt for elective c-section as I was terrified of history repeating itself. I started having contractions at something like 8:30 in the evening, went to triage at midnight and he was here by 2:09 pushed for just over 2 minutes. Explore your options but don’t let it put you off having another baby as it could be a completely different story second time around😊

I had a planned c section and it was great. It is absolutely not the same as an emergency one. Nothing to fear, yiu are rested, everything is really calm and I recovered as fast as my friends who had natural births with no complications.
I hope this eases yiur mind about a possible c section in the future.

awww thank you that’s lovely to hear I’ve heard so many good things about a planned one, but I think I’m more worried about the recovery and another injection in my spine like it really goes through me puts me off 🥲🥲 I had 2 lots of epidural and another spinal for c section it like haunts me forever xxx

my recovery was really good. I was doing exercise at 6 weeks.
I hate needles so I get it abiut injections. I was terried of it but the doctors and midwives were great
