MMR Vaccine

I was the same. Heard so many horror stories but every baby is just different.
mine had no reaction. Just tired and sad on the day other than that. Nothing.

nurse who we went to for it said we are on the verge of an epidemic outbreak because so many people have backed out of the MMR!

I'm avoiding all vaccines. Very worried we are putting stuff in our bodies and our baby's that we don't need

I was petrified when my little boys jags came around that i put them off. He’s getting them today and i’m still absolutely petrified, i’d rather not get him but he’ll be going to nursery and i want him to be protected. I wish there wasn’t so many fear mongering things about as it’s just put the fear of god into me🫣

My LB had a sore leg for a couple of days and probably slept badly for a week or two. I had it when I was a baby, and everyone I know did. I think it's more worrying that measles could become an epidemic because of people not vaccinating. Especially as my LB isn't protected until the 2nd dose.

My daughter cried a bit and that was it. She had a temperature which went down with calpol and she was back to her usual self the next day. Measles rates are increasing because of the anti vaxxers spreading misinformation so it’s best to protect your child.

My personal opinion is that I'd rather my child is uncomfortable and unwell for a few days than seriously ill or worse because I didn't vaccinate. They're very well researched and serious side effects are incredibly rare. Measles can be deadly and I'm not taking that risk x

Edited to add: my son and daughter were both absolutely fine after theirs - just a bit grumpy and off their food for a day or so

My son had his on Wednesday last week, he turned one on the 31st of Jan, other than being a bit grumpy with his legs hurting and a tiny bit of temp, he also went off food a little bit which is back to normal now he was fine. Nothing major, I think I’d rather risk him being not himself for a couple of days than catch any of the diseases he is vaccinated against. My daughter who is now 5 always had her immunisations as well, and don’t get me wrong I’m always hesitant no matter how many times it needs to be done I sit there with the baby being pricked and cry myself hearing their cry but never had any major issues and they have always been good and it’s an ease of mind with them being protected seeing as we travel a lot. I always had my doubts and so many times said I won’t do it but not doing it is more scary in my head than actually going ahead with it. Being a mum is a tough one, we’re the ones that always have to make the toughest decisions. Whatever you decide it’s for the best!

I’m don’t understand why anyone would choose not to protect their child against serious diseases with thoroughly researched vaccines that have been used for decades. My little boy has just had his 12 month vaccines and he was a bit grumpy for a day but then he was absolutely fine. Imagine your child being seriously ill or worse from a disease that you could have protected them against. That’s my train of thought!

I understand with regards to the Covid vaccine and agree but what about the likes of Meningitis which is part of the 1 year old vaccination? Absolutely deadly disease I would urge you to reconsider..!
